Exploring Problem-Solving Behavior in an Optics Game
Understanding player behavior in complex problem solving tasks is important for both assessing learning and for the design of content. Previous research has modeled studenttutor interactions as a complex network; researchers were able to use these networks to provide visualizations and automatically generated feedback. We collected data from 195 high school students playing an optics puzzle gam...
متن کاملProblem Structure And Problem Solving Behavior
One of the most interesting questions in the study of human problem solving is the nature of the Interaction between a problem's intrinsic structure and a problem solver's strategies or behaviors. The present paper suggests the use of techniques developed in research in mechanical problem solving to assist in formulating and illuminating this question. The authors also seek to develop a relatio...
متن کاملDiscontinuous Galerkin Methods for Solving Double Obstacle Problem
In this paper the ideas in [19] are extended to solve the double obstacle problem by using discontinuous Galerkin methods. A priori error estimates are established for these methods, which reach optimal order for linear elements. We present a test example, and the numerical results on the convergence order match the theoretical prediction.
متن کاملAn Approach for Solving Traveling Salesman Problem
In this paper, we introduce a new approach for solving the traveling salesman problems (TSP) and provide a solution algorithm for a variant of this problem. The concept of the proposed method is based on the Hungarian algorithm, which has been used to solve an assignment problem for reaching an optimal solution. We introduced a new fittest criterion for crossing over such problems, and illu...
متن کاملThe effect of problem solving education on food behavior self-efficacy in overweightor obese women
Background: Nutrition education and behavioral techniques, self-monitoring and problem solving have been identified as preferred treatment for weight loss. This study aim is determine the effect of problem solving training on food behavior self-efficacy, in overweight or obese women in the city of Urmia in 2012. Methods: This study is the semi-experimental with pre-test and post- test design t...
